The Slow Return of “Fast Friday”

Updated: Mar 3

Research has demonstrated that walking faster encourages more efficiency and less injury, and an inability to walk fast has been shown to increase fall risk.

Dating back to my quick birth, two weeks before my due date, my life has been a continuous quest to go faster. I must have picked up this trait from my mother who, one year later, quickly birthed a little brother for me to race. My brother Al and I have strived our entire lives to finish faster than the other. ‘Vanity of vanities,’ King Solomon would say.

Despite my selfish ambitions, I did pick up many tricks for moving more efficiently over the years, and I will pass them along in these weekly posts.
